E-learning as a disruptive innovation for improving global access to higher education Covid-19 pandemic has brought about a huge disruption to all spheres of human life. Since the COVID -19 pandemic has disrupted the normal lifestyle of people across the globe, the virtual world has come to the rescue. Amongst many institutions schools, colleges and universities have also shifted their base to virtual platforms to conduct classes online. Coronavirus outbreak has significantly accelerated development of online education across the globe. The pandemic has significantly disrupted the higher education sector as well, which is a critical determinant of a country’s economic future Needless to say, the pandemic has transformed the centuries-old, chalk–talk teaching model to one driven by technology. This disruption in the delivery of education is pushing policymakers to figure out how to drive engagement at scale while ensuring inclusive e-learning solutions and tackling the digital divide.
